The 993 Porsche 911 is the internal name for the 911 model produced between 1993 and 1998. Now normally, 90s cars look very old fashioned, not quite reaching the ‘classic’ or ‘vintage’ stage yet, and no way near enough, to look cutting edge or modern, but the 993 really cuts the mustard.

Being the first 911 to receive a 6 speed gearbox, the 993 was powered by a 3.6L engine, producing 272BHP, a 0-60MPH time of 5.6 seconds and a top speed of 168MPH. This tiptronic model, produced in 1997, is actually a little bit slower, with a 0-60MPH time of 6.6 seconds and a top speed of 165MPH. It is however finished in my favourite colour on the 993, Artic Silver, with Midnight Blue leather interior.

Having covered 100,000 miles, the interior age and wear is beginning to show, but you can’t help but drive this classic Porsche for miles and miles. It’s also a steal at £39,995, a car that will get you the respect of being a Porsche owner, without having the wear the hat of someone who is in the midst of their mid-life crisis!
